What to do in the Euganean Hills
Discover the Euganean Hills and tourism in Veneto
A land to live, savour and love.
The Euganean Hills are an extraordinary geographical area, offering the perfect balance of nature, history, food and wine, and outdoor living. They have always fascinated visitors, to the point of being described as “islands without a sea”. This green archipelago lies in the heart of the Veneto region, between Padua, Vicenza, Verona and Venice. John Strange, an 18th century geologist, described the hills as follows: “They rise alone like cliffs from the sea”. And it is precisely their unique shape, born from volcanic eruptions 35 million years ago, that makes them so unmistakable: peaks and gentle slopes that seem to chase one another; ancient rocks softened by rows of vineyards that dot the landscape; as many as 81 hills, reaching their highest point (601 m) at Mount Venda.
The Euganean Hills are recognised as a UNESCO MAB Biosphere Reserve
