What to see

Villas and gardens

From sweeping views that stretch across the plain, to villages, castles, villas and monasteries suddenly rising along the hills, everything speaks of a rich and widespread heritage spanning over three thousand years of history. From the earliest prehistoric artifacts to the Roman Via Annia, from medieval courts to Venetian Renaissance villas—such as Villa dei Vescovi, Villa Barbarigo in Valsanzibio, Villa Emo Capodilista, and many others—that enrich the landscape with gardens, mazes, and centuries-old parks. Alongside material history lives spiritual history: the hermitage of Mount Rua, the ruins of the Olivetani Monastery on Mount Venda, and Villa Beatrice d’Este on Mount Gemola preserve centuries of prayer, silence and contemplation.

Towns and villages to see

Medieval villages and cities of art, guarding a rich history and tradition. The “Colli Euganei” Regional Park comprises 15 towns, each with its own identity: Arquà Petrarca, one of Italy’s “Most Beautiful Villages”; Este, with its Carrarese Castle; Monselice, a city with an ancient history; Montagnana, with its city walls considered among the best-preserved in Europe and the “Palio dei Dieci Comuni” historic festival.

Museums in the Euganean Hills

The Euganean Hills guard an amazing cultural heritage of history, nature and archaeology. Within a few minutes of the Wine Relais are fascinating sites such as Cava Bomba, a symbol of 20th-century historical memory; the Butterfly Arc, a tropical oasis combining scientific education with an immersive experience; and the Archaeological and Naturalistic Museum of the Euganean Hills, where the land tells its story through artifacts, fossils and ancient relics.

Wines and tastings

A land of passions and authentic flavours, the Euganean Hills boast a long wine-making tradition, expressed in the wines of Le Volpi Winery and Monte Fasolo Winery. Amid vineyards, historic caves, and gentle landscapes, we will guide you through our production methods and the identity of our territory. Tastings take place at the Monte Fasolo Wine Bar, a space dedicated to the encounter of wine, culture and storytelling.

Festivals and village fairs

During the year, the Euganean Hills come alive with festivals and village fairs that tell the story of the area through its products and a strong sense of community. From the historic Grape Festival of Vò Euganeo, celebrating the harvest and local wine-making culture, to the Gnocco Festival and the traditional Chestnut Festival, each event offers an opportunity to experience the most authentic traditions of the Euganean Hills up close.

Traditional dishes

The cuisine of the Euganean Hills is simple, intense and deeply rooted in the seasons. From Venetian cicchetti snacks, perfect paired with a glass of wine, to classic dishes such as gallina in saor (chicken in sweet-and-sour onion sauce) and bigoli al torchio (thick, hand-pressed pasta), as well as meat- and mushroom-based specialities, every recipe expresses a deeply rooted gastronomic culture.
